What is the Macula Risk® Test?
Macula Risk® is a simple, non-invasive prognostic test that evaluates your genetic profile to determine your susceptibility to vision loss from AMD.
- Simple Cheek Swab: Testing is quick and painless. We collect a simple DNA sample using a cheek swab in our office and send it directly to the laboratory.
- Turnaround Time: Results are analyzed and sent back to our office in approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
- Done at Any Age: AMD is heavily influenced by genetics. Because your DNA does not change over time, this test can be performed at any age—whether you have a family history of AMD and want to know your baseline risk early, or you have already been diagnosed with early/intermediate AMD.
